MBA Admission Process, Eligibility & Scholarship
As per AICTE Norms & Guidelines, Candidates who have completed any 10 + 2 + 3 Graduation in any stream with minimum of 50% marks (5% relaxation for Reserved Category students) are eligible for the enrollment of MBA course. These candidates have to appear and pass in any one of the Entrance Examinations specified by the Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra State, Mumbai. Admission to candidates are done by Central Admission Process (CAP) of State of Maharashtra on the basis of Common Entrance Test State Level (MBA/MMS CET) and All India Level Entrance Examinations (CAT, CMAT, MAT, ATMA, XAT, etc. ) as approved by the Directorate of Technical Education, Mumbai.. The process of admission is as follows:
- Applications are invited by CAP from candidates who have passed one or more of the Eligibility Entrance Tests as approved by DTE, Mumbai.
- Candidates register online to participate in CAP. In the process, all the Documents of Eligibility and category reservations are uploaded and verified by the Facilitation Centers (FCs) appointed by DTE.
- Provisional merit list is prepared by CET Cell as per the Category reservations and different types of Quota based on the performance on Entrance Examination.
- Candidates are allowed to register and make updates through grievance procedure again conducted by the FCs.
- After the grievances are addressed, Final Merit List is prepared and published by the CET cell. Each candidate is provided All India Merit No., General Merit No., University Merit No. and Category Merit No.
- Candidates are given an opportunity to provide Choices of Colleges of their preference to enroll for throughout Maharashtra.
- The College wise Allotments of candidates opted for respective colleges based on the merit and choice preference of such applicants adhering to the reservation policy is done in the centralized manner and candidates are provided time to accept the allotment in three ways:
- Freeze: The Candidate accepts the allotment and enrolls to the institute and final decision of admission.
- Float: The candidate accepts the allotment but intends to opt for betterment in the further rounds of the process
- No Action: The candidate does not want to proceed with the allotment and would opt for another institute in further rounds of the process
- The Similar process is undertaken in 3 rounds. The Round III allocation would be the final allotment and the candidate has to enroll in the institute after Round III.
- Seats remaining vacant after Round III and the Institute Level seats are then filled following transparent procedure of Publishing Advertisement in Local Newspapers inviting applications from eligible candidates, preparing and displaying Merit List of such applicants and enrolling such students within the period stipulated by DTE. Admissions done through CAP but cancelled by the candidates in due course are also filled through this same procedure.
- The students enrolled through CAP or at institute level pay the fees as approved by the Fees Regulating Authority, Govt. of Maharashtra State for the respective academic year.
- Reserve category students avail fees concession as defined by the State Govt. from time to time. Later these students file an Online Scholarship Form for availing scholarships from the State Government.
